If you have never done yoga before or you have not been doing yoga for more than 6 months; this is the class for you. These classes are suitable for all ages and fitness levels.
In a beginners class you will be taught the vital principles of yoga practice, emphasizing good grounding, strong and stable core as well as creating a calm, peaceful mind.
There is great focus on alignment principles so injuries in joints and entire vertebrae column can be avoided. Basic breathing principles are also introduced and various poses are taught individually so technique, precision and alignment are understood before a few poses are strung together to create a more flowing practice.
Important relaxation and basic awareness and concentration techniques are part of every session. Each student will be addressed individually and taken care of, so that you can enjoy and reap the benefits of your yoga practice. You may stay at this level for up to 2 years – or move to the intermediate level within 6 months, depending on how many times per week you attend. Your teacher will tell you personally when you are ready to move on to the intermediate level.
Women who have been doing yoga for some time and are now pregnant, can also join this class after week 12 of the pregnancy, providing the pregnancy has no complications. You can stay in this class to the end of 2nd trimester and then join the regular pregnancy classes till the end of your pregnancy. For your own and your baby’s benefits, we do not accept women in this class in their last trimester.
