For students that have been doing yoga between 3 – 5 years or that have been invited by the teacher.

Being comfortable in freestanding headstand for up to 5 min. is a pre-requisite, as well as Shoulderstands up to 10 min. and all it’s variations. Various challenging arm balances as well as deeper twists and backbends are part of every session.

The student is being challenged on a more mental level, by being given more refined and more subtle instructions in order to feel and isolate particular muscle groups. The advanced student is challenged by a strong and challenging practice yet maintaining a soft face and calm peaceful mind are the main focus. More challenging seated poses are held for longer and ‘growing lotus” is being practiced regularly, so that the art of sitting for meditation will become effortless.

Pranayama techniques will also include Bastrika (Bellows Breath) as well as some breath retentions (khumbakas) and philosophy lectures (yoga sutras) are being discussed on a regular basis.
